Magpies Women's 2s travelled to Peterborough this weekend introducing Freya and Kit into their squad. A sensible start to the game, saw Magpies holding a good structure, especially with only one substitute to rotate on.
Magpies applied good pressure as they built into the game. The Harrison duo on the left hand side fought tirelessly to win the ball and work the ball forwards.
A quick turnover by Peterborough on two separate occasions saw Magpies go 2-0 down in the space of 5 minutes.
A half time reset allowed Magpies to gather their composure and they hit the second half running. Early pressure from the forward line of Mia, Krystal and Grace, secured a short corner which Kira converted from left slip.
Peterborough set a high press managing to work the ball round the left hand side for their forward to slot the ball in on the right post making it 3-1 but Magpies did not give up. Kira took a quick free hit on the right and passed the ball through to Krystal who pushed the ball hard into the bottom corner (3-2). Shortly afterwards, player of the match Charlie won a ball on the right and battled through, determined to get the ball in the goal and managed to bring Magpies level for the first time in the game.
Both teams continued fighting and an unfortunate flick was given against Magpies with a minute to go. George in goal held her ground and the flick hit the post. Shortly afterwards, the final whistle was blown with Magpies remaining unbeaten in their first 4 games of the season.
Result: 3-3
