We spoke to Gary Wyver from Canterbury Hockey Club about how using Teamo has helped run the men's first team as well as the rest of the club.
- Why did you decide to use an app based system?
We had used other apps but we thought we’d give Teamo a try as it came recommended to us. For the first season it was helpful as an aid to the M1 coaches to see availability and to enable them to plan sessions.
As the whole club came on board it really helped us with the financial side of things and during COVID it made the COVID officers job much easier when having to record attendees at games & training.
- How has Teamo helped with the week-to-week running of the team?
Again being able to see who was available for matches and training enabled much easier forward planning, there are always those players who struggle to keep any sort of system updated but the option to be able to message and set availability as a manager or coach has been really useful.
- What tools do you use the most, and what features have been particularly useful?
Match fees and subscriptions for the whole club has been really useful. Our treasurer has a lot less work, not having to collect and pay in cash, to the extent that he has changed his mind about giving up the role!
Of course match day info, locations & kit is always useful.
- Any other thoughts about the platform?
It is evolving into a very useful app, we are currently amalgamating all three club sections onto Teamo. There are new things being introduced regularly, many of which are very helpful, it would be useful to have a user forum to perhaps discuss future additions and to prioritise what developments would help clubs in the future.
