Headlines from WHC AGM 15th May 2022

Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM on Sunday. We had almost 30 members - enough for a quorum. Formal minutes will follow, but in the meantime, here are some of the headlines from the meeting and links to some of the materials.

HEADLINES FROM 2021/22 AGM

  • Healthy financial surplus: budget deficit was overturned, mainly because of high Teamo %collections, sponsorship, an extra Running Festival in the year etc.
  • No change to membership fees or match fees: no increases for 2022/23. New budget has a small deficit which we will try to overturn.
  • New Club Constitution approved: this brings us in line with HMRC regulations, latest EH guidelines and our latest practices.
  • WPAL resolution approved: this helps with CASC and HMRC compliance
  • New trustees appointedTim Short will become a trustee and shareholder of WPAL, taking direction from the WHC committee. Lauren Killilea was also appointed subject to her being comfortable with the documentation.
  • New Committee electedBecca Healey (Chair), Louise Broome (Vice Chair), Hilary Markwick (Treasurer), Jim Garside (Secretary) as before, but Caz Farrell is now Ladies Captain. For full list see AGM presentation materials below. We still have a vacancy for Junior's Captain!! Any volunteers/suggestions?
  • President re-electedSteve Kinsella continues as our President
  • New Vice Presidents appointedPenny Sparrow, Clive Westbrook and Alan Murdoch join Louise Broome, Dave Simmons and Colin Birtles as VPs.
  • Club Purpose: after consulting members, the Club Purpose is: To promote a supportive, social & family environment for all to learn and play hockey at all levels.
  • Club Values are: Enjoyment, Welcoming, Respect, Growth, Inclusivity. You'll see us using the Club Purpose and Values on the website and in all our communications.
  • Coaching: was the main topic during AOB. Becca and committee are working on a new coaching plan and new coaches for next season.
