Thanks for your message!

The club badly needs more umpires. These amazing members all volunteered and took the training last year. Would you be willing to take the training and become an umpire too? The club will provide support and help your build confidence in our lowest teams first.
To volunteer, please contact one of the following then book your online training! (More details below)
Thank you to our existing umpires
Our club is run by volunteers and our umpires are no exception. We all owe a big thank you to our volunteer umpires, who give up their time to make hockey possible for all of us.
But we need more umpires (adults, juniors, parents)!
Our teams depend on a very small number of volunteer umpires. We don’t have enough and some individuals take on an unfair load.
We would like each home team to provide umpires
To expand the pool of umpires, we would like each team to take responsibility to provide 2 umpires each time they play at home – to umpire another home game on the same day. This will require more players to train as umpires in some teams! And ease the pressure on our small number of umpires.
Please volunteer to take the training
Your captain will be asking for volunteers to take the Level 1 Umpire training course (a 2 hour online course) over the next few weeks. There are many courses throughout November and December – see the EH training schedule here. To umpire in the lower leagues, an individual only has to complete the EH basic training - there is no formal assessment required. The club will fund training for those who can't afford the fee.
Support for new umpires
Once you’ve completed the online training, the club will:
As per current club policy, umpires are not obliged to pay a match fee if they play on the same day.
Please volunteer to be an umpire and support all the teams in the club!
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
