Welcome to the latest Club Bulletin with updates from the club and requests for your support! The big news is that we are now working towards Talent Centre accreditation!
- 1/ Talent Centre accreditation process started! We have been accepted into England Hockey's Talent Centre (TC) accreditation process!
- A Talent Centre club is a club that provides high quality provision for players at early talent development level
- Our club has a lot of work to do to achieve the TC accreditation over the season - as well as renewing our ClubMark accreditation
- But the long term benefits for our junior members, our coaches, our senior teams and the club’s reputation and growth are huge
- Paul Boon and Annie Rogan will lead the work but will rely heavily on help from coaches and members in our ladies, men’s and juniors sections
- Would you like to help create WHC’s future? If so, please get in touch ASAP!
2/ Member discount of 15% at Oxygen Freejumping!
- Oxygen Freejumping, who sponsor our U15s and juniors, are offering a 15% discount for all WHC members
- Just use the code WILMSLOWHC15 when you book your activity and have some fun
- If you’ve already used Oxygen Freejumping, please give them a positive review on Tripadvisor to support them too!
3/ Marshalling: Sunday 26th November (Wilmslow Festive 10k)
- Marshalling for this race is vital to club fundraising - please volunteer to support the club and have some fun!
- We hope and expect every member will marshal at least one of the three races each year - to share the effort
- Please tap the green tick in Teamo to volunteer as a marshal - thank you! (Or the red cross if you can't so we don't keep asking you).
- If you are able to bring others too (fabulous!) then please provide details in the form here too.
4/ Clubhouse repairs progressing:
- The clubhouse flooding has impacted us all - but the team has been working hard to restore the clubhouse to better than before
- We all owe special thanks to Penny Sparrow for negotiating the vital insurance claim to cover the £six-figure repair cost
- New flooring is complete throughout the clubroom, hall, toilets and changing rooms
- The entrance hall, toilets and much of the changing rooms have been repainted by volunteers - but there’s still more to do (please help if you can)
- Generous donations from some kind members will enable the clubroom to be painted by a professional - and speed up completion
- Unrelated issues with hot water and plumbing are fixed now too - some electrics still to be fixed.
- We hope to have the clubhouse fully operational in 2-3 weeks - watch this space...!
5/ Sponsor a seat:
- We want to make the clubhouse better than before - so as well as new floors and colour scheme we are replacing the seats and sofa’s
- The existing seats were old, scruffy and worn - we want to replace them with new ones (and give the old ones a new home)
- Would you sponsor a new seat with your name for £30? We have ~25 so far but need 100.
- Please help! Click here for details. (NB The insurance payout won’t fund new seats.)
6/ TeamoRewards: save money online AND benefit the club
- Save money on your online purchases for Black Friday and Christmas - and benefit the club at the same time!
- How? Sign up to TeamoRewards in the Teamo app to get discounts on thousands of online stores, and generate cashback for the club at the same time.
- Watch out for the prompts in Teamo or tap on your profile picture/initials in the Teamo app and then tap on the TeamoRewards option
