Welcome to the 2023/24 hockey season!
Hi - Paul Boon here! I’m delighted to be your Chair this season and that we have such a great Committee to run and develop our club. Thank you to all our volunteers.
With so much going on with running the club, and focusing on how we grow the club, I really encourage each one of you to step forwards and help us on this next stage of the club’s journey. We really need volunteers to help with club development (working with our committee, our awesome new coaches and England Hockey), accelerating fundraising activities for our new pitch & grounds, business operations, media/marketing and finally analysis expertise. If you have any of these skills or are looking to learn them, then please get in touch with your committee. Everyone is welcome!
I’m really excited for this season - why?
- Talent Centre: we have been accepted in the 2023/24 cohort to become an accredited England Hockey "Talent Centre”. There’s work to do, but this could transform our club!
- Crow Hockey: we have a major new sponsor for the club: Crow Hockey. Click here for more details, including 40% discount on hockey sticks and 20% discount on other hockey equipment for WHC members.
- Coaching: we have some terrific new coaches joining the club to help develop and grow our club and our teams.
Clubhouse update
- Our friends in Phoenix are working hard to get the clubhouse operational again after the flooding - but it’s going to take some time.
- Bar news: from 4th September, WHC members can use the bar at Wilmslow Albion Football Club!
- Please reply ASAP if there are any events that you might have considered hiring/using the clubhouse for, but didn’t because it was out of action. This will help with our insurance claim.
I have three asks for everyone please:
1/ Join Club Clean-Up Day - Sunday 3rd September - Sign up in Teamo
- Please come and help tidy the club grounds and our container ahead of the new season - anytime between 11am and 3pm
- There are lots of jobs that need doing - please bring along your gardening and cleaning tools, pressure hoses, hedge trimmers etc
- Many of these jobs need doing throughout the season. We desperately need help with these - could you help with any of them on a regular or occasional basis? If so, please get in touch.
2/ Get your ticket for Club Open Day - Saturday 9th September - Click for more details
- Please come along to Club Open Day - and bring friends and family, especially if any might potentially become a member!
- Your ticket includes entry to the raffle with some great prizes, a fun day of hockey, sponsor stalls to explore and food, drinks and hockey equipment to buy.
- Buy your ticket in advance on Teamo. All proceeds go to the club.

- Please pay your membership fees in Teamo NOW!
- If anyone is facing financial hardship which could prevent them from joining, please get in touch with Sarah Brickhill (Membership Secretary) so we can try to help.
- The final deadline for membership fees is 30th September.
