Preparing for the Cricket Season: Top Tips to Setting Up Your New Season

As the cricket season approaches, it’s time to gear up and get your club’s administration in order. Efficient planning and setup can save valuable time and ensure a smooth start for players, staff, and administrators. Here are some top tips to get your new season off to a flying start.

1. Archive the Previous Season

Before you activate the new season, ensure the previous one is archived. This is critical, as Teamo does not allow clubs to have multiple seasons live simultaneously. If you skip this step, Teamo’s support staff will need to step in, which could lead to delays. Archiving ensures your club’s data is organised and ready for a fresh start.

2. Copy Over Your Products

Streamline your setup by copying products from the previous season. Here’s how:

  • Navigate to Manage > Club Products.
  • Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Copy Products.
  • Choose the season you want to copy from and confirm by selecting Copy.
  • Your products will now be transferred, saving time on creating them from scratch.

3. Enable a Season Opt-In

Want to know which players are returning this season? Enable a Season Opt-In option. This feature prompts players to confirm their participation for the upcoming season.

To enable Season Opt-In:

  • Go to Manage Club > Members Centre > Select the 3 dots next to Season Settings > Select Season Opt-In Settings

Players will see a pop-up when they open the app, asking if they wish to opt into the new season. As an admin, you can track responses in the Members’ Centre, where a tick next to a player’s name indicates their opt-in status.

4. Migrate Teams to New Age Groups

For junior teams, use Teamo’s Team Migration tool to move players into the appropriate age groups effortlessly. You can also manage team allocations using the Squad Allocation or Deallocator features.

Visit the Team Migration Help Page for a detailed guide.

5. Import Fixtures in Bulk

Save time by uploading all fixtures at once. Teamo’s importing tool allows you to plan the entire season with ease.

Here’s how to bulk upload fixtures:

  • Go to Manage Club > Import Fixtures.
  • Upload an XLSX or CSV file. Alternatively, import directly from platforms like Full-Time, GMS, or PlayCricket.

This feature ensures your team’s calendar is up-to-date with minimal effort.

6. Review Registration Forms

Take a moment to review your registration forms for accuracy and completeness.

To add new questions:

  • Head to Manage > Registration.
  • Select Add New Question and fill in the required details.

Players’ existing registration data carries over, but any new questions will be displayed immediately.

7. Verify Memberships and Payment Settings

Ensure your membership structure is clear and payments are correctly configured:

  • Link each product to the appropriate payment account.
  • Set clear due dates for membership payments to avoid delays.
  • Ensure the Memberships are available to the correct teams.

This step guarantees a hassle-free payment process for both administrators and members.
