Welcome to Cambridge City Hockey Club, and to one of the most exciting times in the Club's long history. I joined 31 years ago when we played on grass pitches behind the Cambridge Lawn Tennis club, Wilberforce Rd. We haven't moved far physically - the Club is still on Wilberforce Road - but wow, have we moved! Three 1st class, sand-dressed astro pitches with a large Clubhouse, 7 Men's teams, 6 Ladies Teams, and both 1st Teams representing the Club in the National League Division. There are also very strong Masters (our Oldies but Goldies) teams playing Over 35s to Over 60s matches; you are never too old or young to enjoy what we have on offer. In addition, we have a growing and thriving youth section offering hockey from U6 to U18, with teams playing in the EH National and Area Competitions. Recently we have been awarded Club mark and EH Talent Academy status for all of East region!!
Our vision is to get both 1st teams into the National League Premier Division, and ultimately playing in European Competition. However, we remain a community-based, not-for-profit, family Club committed to making hockey available in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment to everyone, for all abilities and social groups in the Cambridge area. We are rightly proud to support Flyerz (Disability) hockey festivals and continue to work with schools and the community with our Outreach programme, to ensure greater access, and enjoyment of our sport. The Club has grown in the past seven years to become one of the largest in the East, competing in local, regional and national competitions. We invite you to come and see what we can offer, both playing and socially; it's available for all the family. We hope you will include us in your everyday lives.
Greetings and very best wishes,
Mark Brookes
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
