Safeguarding & Welfare

CCHC believes that all young people have the right to be safe and enjoy their involvement in hockey and is committed to promoting the welfare of all young people in our sport to protect them from harm alongside the hockey family. CCHC has adopted, and follows, England Hockey's Safeguarding Policy & Guidance. All our volunteers & coaches are DBS checked, and have undergone the appropriate level of safeguarding training.

A pathway built around the player means taking a holistic view. For the older age groups, we are acutely aware of the demands on their time away from CCHC – whether school hockey, other sports or exams. We work with schools and parents to understand and manage these pressures so children do not do too much.

Our safeguarding policies, together with our 'Youth Section Handbook' which sets out all our policies, principles and information, can be found here:

You can also find more information on the England Hockey website here:

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Safeguarding & Welfare Officer.
